Summary:
R is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization.
And then he meets a girl.
First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.

My Review:
This is my first zombie book. I love to watch Zombie tv shows(Walking Dead!), movies, but I never ever read a book about zombies! I saw the movie trailer and I saw the book at the store and I was just so curious that I decided to give it try! And Oh my, the book was so amazing! It's not your typical zombie story, It actually has a great plot, cute zombie, funny moments, incredible romance...well it has everything! The plot about how when zombie eats someones brain, it gets all of that persons memory, I think that's just so original.
Julie is definitely a character I liked. She made me laugh many times with her smart mouth and her flame of life and the hope she held for human kind. R(the zombie) is probably one of my all time favorite zombies. He is just so funny, sweet, and caring, everything a zombie shouldn't be. But it worked. The chemistry between Julie and R was amazing. She knew that he eats people but she stayed with him, she fell for him. She fell for just a corpse. But a corpse that probably had more "feelings" that humans.
I loved how he showed his feeling with "Keep...you...safe." and "Don't know why you...say good-bye. I say...hello."
I honestly instantly fell in love with R. Just because of the way he wanted to be human, how bad he wanted to change, to change for her. To be a living for her.
Well if our world will be inhabited by zombies, I wish I can meet a guy(zombie) like R;D
I felt so much emotions for this book, it made me laugh and grin like an idiot. Lets just say:
"I'd describe it as yummy, with notes of fucking delicious."
Now a major motion picture from Summit Entertainment. Nominee John Malkovich, Nicholas Hoult, and Teresa Palmer and directed by Jonathan Levine. Check out the trailer:
I loved the book and the movie. And I'm always happy to meet another zombie fan! I love The Walking Dead, too - both the show and the graphic novels. These are the first (and probably) only comic books I'll ever read.

I loved the movie as well! I think they did a good job, even though they changes some things, it was still a really great movie! I haven't read The Walking Dead comic books yet, but I really want to, probably will soon(:
DeleteThe movie was pretty good :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't enjoy the book as much, though
Ooh, I LOVED this book. The movie was good, but nowhere near as beautiful as the book. Plus they cut out my favorite part, R singing. :( It's weird, because I'm normally not a zombie fan at all. But like you said, Warm Bodies was just so original and so good.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog! I'm a new follower. I'd love it if you could check my blog out at http://www.paper-fantasies.blogspot.com. Thanks!

I agree with you! I liked the part where he was singing! Thank you! I followed back(:
DeleteI haven't read Warm Bodies, and was really skeptical of it... until I watched the trailer and saw how funny it looked. I'm still a little skeptical, but I think i might try it eventually.
ReplyDeleteI just watched the movie with my daughters a few days ago and we LOVED it. We all want to read the book now, it sounds amazing!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I really want to. More than the movie, I want to read this book. So many people, including you, have such great things to say about it. I really want to experience this different kind of zombie for myself!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book, and I haven't seen the movie yet. But I want to read the book, I heard many great reviews about this book from my friends!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I haven't read too many zombie books, but this one sounds god and I like that the POV is male. <3
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to watch this movie because the trailer looks so good and I bet the book is even better. After reading your amazing review I definitely have to get this book.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great review. Good job capturing and explaining R. :)
ReplyDeleteI wan to read this book you make it sound even better
ReplyDeleteI haven't read or seen the movie. I've heard great things about it. I'm definitely adding it to my list, so I can finally watch the movie. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteI've read and seen a lot of hype about this one, but zombies just don't seem sexy to me. I will have to give the sample a try.
ReplyDeleteI have thought about reading this book, and I think now I definitely will! I'm not a big zombie person, but I loved the movie. I usually try to always read the book before watching the movie, but this time I didn't since I was at my sister-in-laws and they were watching it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm.. when I picked up this book I just could not get into it. Maybe I will go back and re-read it. Thank you for your review!
