Tavia Michaels is the sole survivor of the plane crash that killed her parents. When she starts to see strange visions of a boy she’s never spoken with in real life, she begins to suspect that there’s much about her past that she isn’t being told. Tavia will soon to discover that she’s an Earthbound—someone with the ability to create matter out of nothing—and that she alone holds the key to stopping the Reduciata, an evil society that manipulates global events for its own shadowy purposes. Tavia will ultimately have to make a choice: to come into her powers and save the world from the evil Reduciata or to choose free will and a love of her own.

My review:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow this is the first book that I read by Aprilynne Pike, and all I have to say is Wow, I really liked this book! It was a surprise, I thought it was just going to be another love triangle, but oh my God it's so much more. Its really a book that as you read you keep uncovering new secrets and surprises you didn't expect! I just loved how from the beginning the story just pulls you in. Probably one of my favorite  beginnings. I just loved the whole plot of the story. Travia's story is full of grief but also full of secrets. The secrets she will find out can either save her or destroy her. I loved the twists! OMG! There were some awesome twists that I didn't see coming! I can't really give away much, you'll have to read it to find out about how good the plot is.

I also enjoyed the characters! Travia is amazing narrative, she deals with all that's happening in a way that I can connect to. She is strong but at the same time she is also weak. I liked her character a lot, well honestly I liked all of the characters.

In a book, there were only a couple things that I might of not liked. I was really annoyed with some of the scenes, and all of the waiting to find out who the mystery "person is" lol! But that's just my problem...Haha

Overall I really liked this book, and I will definitely recommend it. Now waiting for the second one to come out...

  1. A new novel to look out for! Sounds awesome! Thanks for the review :)

  2. Ooh, this sounds awesome and I am 100% in love with this cover!!! Great review! :)

  3. Great review! I am glad this book is really good. I really like Aprilynne's Wings books. <3

    1. I really want to read her Wings series!(:

  4. I had a hard time with the authors Wings trilogy. Really hard time. It was literally, overwhelmingly LOVE TRIANGLE. That was the only part of the story that seemed to get the main focus, and it drove me crazy. I couldn't stand the MC and how she treated one of the guys. It pissed me off to no end. I did end up finishing the series, and that last book was actually really good. It stopped focusing on the triangle, and started focusing on what had drawn me in to begin with. Anyway, I didn't know if I would read another of her books, but I have to say that this book is screaming at me to give it a chance. And if I keep reading reviews like yours, that will happen. It is really nice to hear that it isn't all about love triangles

  5. Looks interesting! love triangles can be annoying, but they are alright if done well. I also like having plot twists :)
